Jungle Boogie Picture Pages

We spent a LOT of time in the great outdoors this weekend. We had such a nice time!

We went geocaching at a beautiful nature reserve and we were excited to get our first travel bug. A travel bug is a dog-tag like thing that is put in a cache with a specific destination in mind. One person takes it from a cache, travels to another cache and puts it in there for the next traveler. They are tracked on the web, so you can check on the stories that follow them and their progress towards their destination (New Mexico, in this case).

The travel bug we picked up (seen at left) was the "Etherkiller" travel bug. It's an electrical plug wired to an ethernet plug. Etherkiller would certainly be an appropriate name! LOL We brought it back home with us and will place it in our cache here. It adds a nice little fun twist to an already fun activity.

A few things we saw along the way...

Can you see the face?

The "D Man" - geocacher extraordinaire.

We also visited Maquoketa Caves state park. I love this place. There are nice trails all over the park leading you to various caves that you can go in and explore. We had a great time walking through the dark caves, making funny sounds that would echo through them. It was so green and plush, we felt like we were exploring a jungle.

Some views...

There were some storms rolling through the state on our way home, and the sky looked so cool, so I snapped a couple shots of it from the car...

75mph tree! lol
